Visual GBV Pocket Guide Process Framework
STEP 7: Finalize and Train

Once you have completed all the steps above, work with your illustrator(s) and/or a graphic designer to lay out all the updated images in a final validated visual GBV Pocket Guide for your context.

Finalize specialized training materials and methodologies on safe and ethical response to GBV disclosures.

Finalize the low- to no-literacy GBV Pocket Guide including mobile application and/or other media-based format/s (if applicable).

Once materials are finalized, this is the time to print and/or publish. Work closely with partners to determine the number of copies of the new Visual GBV Pocket Guide and accompanying training materials that you need.

Conduct a series of training of trainers to equip cadres of trained staff. Certified trainees will become Master Trainers – these can be, for example, members of partner WRO/WLO and the Community Advisory Board – to lead trainings on the new version of the GBV Pocket Guide for actors more likely to receive GBV disclosures in your specific context (the end users of the visual GBV Pocket Guide). These Master Trainers will be equipped with the skills and tools required to be able to continue to cascade additional trainings on the visual version of the GBV Pocket Guide after the end of the project period, to promote longer term sustainability. Next Back Building on lessons learned from undertaking the trainings in South Sudan, Mali, and Honduras, it is strongly recommended that master trainers be selected based on the following criteria:

● Have at least a basic understand of the core concepts of gender-based violence.
● Work with or for an agency/organization/entity that focuses on more than one sector, or one sector beyond GBV service delivery (for example, WASH, Food, Nutrition, Shelter, Health, etc) OR be a member of or engaged in community based women’s networks or other community leadership platforms/networks.
● Are able to communicate in both English and/or local languages(s), depending on the preferred language of both the master training and subsequent cascade trainings.
● Have a willingness and intention to participate in the final Master Trainer ToT and carry out their own trainings.
● Have a high gender equality psychometric score.

Feel free to adapt the criteria above as needed or add other criteria that may be relevant for your context.

Ensure that Master Trainers are only certified once they meet all knowledge and facilitation competencies outcomes in the ToT Manual (page 133). Master Trainers should not be certified or allowed to conduct cascade trainings until all core competencies have been reached.

Support Master Trainers to conduct cascade trainings on the new Visual GBV Pocket Guide for your context to build skills and knowledge on safe and ethical responses on GBV disclosures.

Post-training support: Establish a forum or group (for example, WhatsApp) for Master Trainers to share their experiences, connect with each other on successes and/or challenges over the course of cascade trainings, and ask technical questions or request support.
