The common data collection techniques used to obtain data on sector-specific risks for GBV risk analysis in a humanitarian setting are key informant interviews, household surveys, focus group discussions and safety audits. In addition, consultations with women and girls (e.g. FGDs), particularly on access barriers and potential risks are highly recommended at every stage of the program cycle. Not only does this allow women and girls to voice their opinions, it can lead to finding access barriers and solutions that we sometimes do not think of. Consulting with women and girls will therefore lead to better and safer programming, as well as the reduction of GBV risks.
